Although we have a few Battle of Evermore fans here, Sandy's best work by far was with Fairport Convention. BoE is good, but it was never one of my favorite LZ songs. Fun fact: BoE is the only LZ song that included a vocalist other than Robert Plant.

She provided great vocals on The Battle of Evermore. Died way too soon. A tragic story really.

Other's have tried but Sandy's voice is irreplaceable in this song. I also love Page's part on the mandolin.

Sandy's vocals were fantastic. Plant's vocals were great on that whole album. He lost his upper register shortly after. The lyrics are a nice blend of "Hippie Mysticism" and "Lord of the Rings" mythology, although way too many "Whoa now, oh now, oh now"s.
