I frequently also yell, "Shut up and DRIVE!" to people on cell phones. Every musician knows although you can play AND sing (piano, guitar, drums, bass, whatever) you can do either one BETTER if you only do that. And I don't dance with my 'cello.

@BIB- You don't dance with your cello, but you DO wear leather tights and football helmet while playing, don't cha?

I can sing and play guitar/bass/drums/piano with equal levels of aptitude. They taught us syncopation at Berklee & NECOM.
And Melora Creager can sing...and play the cello...and work a petalboard...at the same time. So...to say "every musician" is a bit of a stretch, hon. We're like fingerprints: we're all unique. :)

She looks good doing both things and its her thing to do both things.... so why should she stop doing it? She is winning awards left and right.... so to be honest, I don't care about a few mistakes, as long as she looks hot doing them.

@MZ PIXXX I CAN PLAY ALL THOSE THINGS EQUALLY WELL TOO..... NEVER HAD A LESSON.....IT ALL SOUNDS BAD.....REAL BAD

I've heard many musicians mention that it's *harder* to do both at the same time, and in fact all my college music instructors taught this as a 'given.'
@GS74- Pop, I only know two songs...
One is awfully simple, and
The other is simply awful!
@DP- OK, *most* musicians. I've performed singing and playing, but would have to *honestly* say one or the other or both suffer *at least a little* (usually the vocal part). I also text and drive all the time, and have never had any problems, so maybe it's not 'distractive driving' to *everyone* but there is a reason they passed a law about it for the 'average' driver.
