Sounds like a real threat. This thing of "banishment due to dups" belongs to site rules? What is to happen to those with "not so fast internet" and can't check extensive pages all day long (hours, let's say)? It seems I am doomed!

However, if the photo is more than a week old, it's usually a safe bet *someone* has uploaded it here at some point.
@Szel- Well, again, sorry for the angry rant; was just frustrated and *do* appreciate your uploads, sometimes even when dupes just to *remind* me of a great photo. The site owner himself said he doesn't *expect* people to check all the way through very large galleries (more than 1,000 pics) and is at some point going to have a program that checks for picture similarity, and that should help, but could be many months away in being implemented.

I hope this was all worked out. Give Szel a break. Like he said, he doesn't have fast internet--believe it or not--not everybody has DSL. If he is posting pics that he believes may be new and it takes him ten minutes to view each page, what would you do? I'd say f-it and post the pic. If it doesn't get flagged as a dupe when posting, then what the hell? Just my opinion. The guy seems to be cool and not trying to spam the site.

@saucy jack - I think duplicate detection is in the works, and that will save everyone a lot of trouble.
Me and @BIB both have that same problem. Sometimes when we're trying to advise our friends here on how to avoid a problem, it comes out sounding different than what we intended. And take my word for it, when discussions come up about who is spamming the site; Szel's name NEVER comes up.
Guys @BIB is right, but it's not personal. He's just trying to save you some trouble down the road. @Creator would of course correct any trouble the system gave you once he knew the deal, but then it's just a major inconvenience for you.

@saucy jack - Yeah, I tried, but we just came off a similar guy who *was* padding his stats & Spamming the site. I'm sure that's not what @Szel has going, and he's always been a good member. We'll just try to catch the dupes as he goes if he can't check the bigger galleries. Just one question... what the hell is this 'DSL' you mention? (:^p) Nah, I get it. My first two years on Wikifeet, *before* the 'load 100 more' button, I had allegedly 1.5Mbps rural DSL that was really about 700Kbps, and I'd go make a sandwich while waiting for some of the larger galleries to load! Now I'm blessed with 15 Mbps Cable, but everything I read says U.S. IPS's are the *worst in the world.*

@BIB60, this thing of taking down dupes automatically, is the best way out of the present situation.
@saucy jack, thanks for being supportive. You are a friendly member, bro.

The current 'duplicate checker' doesn't always work, and the planned upgrade is probably many, many months away. Just forget it and do what you've been doing!
@Szel- If your issue is slow Interwebs, then just keep doing what you're doing after you check as much as you can stand. You *do* have great taste in pics, even the duplicates! We'll work it out.
